About StudFund

Australia's premier independent LEGO investment guide — built by a collector who believes LEGO is one of the most overlooked alternative assets available to everyday Australians.

Why we built this

Most LEGO investment resources online are American or British. Prices are in USD or GBP, retirement dates are based on overseas retail, and the advice assumes you can walk into a Target in New Jersey or a Smyths in London. For Australian collectors, that gap has always been frustrating.

StudFund exists to fill that gap. Every price shown on this site is in Australian dollars sourced from LEGO AU RRP. Every deal we feature is available to Australian buyers. Every retirement date is tracked with the Australian market in mind.

We're not a corporate media company. We're a genuine Lego hobbyist who builds sets, tracks the market, and shares what we learn. That's it.

Our approach to reviews

Every set we review is purchased at retail and built. We don't accept press samples, we don't take payment for coverage, and we don't let affiliate relationships influence our verdicts. If a set isn't worth buying we'll say so plainly.

Our scores cover four areas: build experience, parts quality, display value, and investment potential. A set can score well as a build and poorly as an investment — we'll tell you both. The goal is to give you the full picture so you can make your own call.

Our approach to investment content

LEGO investing is real, the data supports it, and we write about it seriously. But we also believe in being honest about the risks. Not every set appreciates. Storage matters. Liquidity is limited. And past performance — even for the Millennium Falcon — does not guarantee future returns.

We'll never tell you to buy a set purely for investment without saying clearly that it comes with risk. We'll never invent data or quote secondary market prices we haven't verified. And we'll never pretend that our investment ratings are financial advice — they're not. They're the informed opinion of an enthusiastic collector with a spreadsheet.

Our principles

🇦🇺
Australian first
AU$ prices, AU retailers, AU retirement tracking. We don't pretend the US market applies here.
🧱
We actually build
No review is published without the set being purchased and built. Full stop.
📊
Data over hype
Investment claims are backed by real secondary market data from BrickLink and verified sources.
🔗
Transparent about affiliate links
We earn commissions when you buy through our links. We disclose this clearly and it never influences our editorial.
⚠️
Honest about risk
LEGO investing has real risks. We say so every time. Nothing on this site is financial advice.
🎉
Free forever
All content is free. No paywall, no subscription, no premium tier. Affiliate commissions keep the lights on.

How we make money

StudFund is free to read and always will be. We earn money in two ways:

Affiliate commissions — when you click a link to LEGO.com AU or Amazon AU and make a purchase, we earn a small commission at absolutely no extra cost to you. The price you pay is identical whether you click through our link or go direct.

That's it. We don't run display advertising, we don't accept sponsored posts, and we don't take payment to feature or promote specific sets. Our editorial is completely independent.

For full details see our Affiliate Disclosure.
